Rooftop Deck, Casa Del Ray

casa_del_ray_deck Little black pen, and a piece of horrid green mimeograph paper.  Remember we used to have many a math test printed on this kind of paper in school?

Heart Attack!

digitalis We can thank this tall very colorful flowering plant that grows all over the place for saving many a life because of its medicinal value – this is where digitalis comes from.  But a word of warning:  DON’T EAT THE PLANT!  You’re more than likely die from a heart attack.  Funny how that works . . .

This one was growing on the roof of my apartment building in a clod of dirt.

When We Were A Big Happy Group

BIG_KNITTERS A couple years ago, I was involved with a fun group of people who got together once a week at Online Cafe on 14th and Pike and we did something that for all of us was great, great fun.  We knit.  My roommate at the time, Daniel Herrera, got involved with this crazy girls’ knitting group and I finally joined in.

It was the most fun I’ve had in a long, long time with a group of people.   It was especially fun one night when I brought my fart-noise making machine and hid it under the table.  So the question is:  how many different fart noises can one get away with before SOMEONE in the group says something?  (not to mention the OTHER people in the cafe…)

If I had pulled more stunts like that, maybe the group would still be together.  Sadly, people came and then they went until the group was no more.  But I met a bunch of very cool people who were very talented, and that was really exciting to see!  I miss many of them.

The Day the Model Didn’t Show Up Naked

man_in_art_class. . . and because of that, one of the artists volunteered to take their place.

He kept his clothes on, however.
