THE RED DOOR, BEGINNING . . .

Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill is a wonderfully engineered park that is actually a false cover for an immense system of water storage bladders that serve as one of the main sources of water for the city.

On Memorial Day, it was actually SUNNY and WARM, so I dragged my easel and paints out  and began this watercolor looking towards downtown through the trees and over the reflecting pool.  It's still pretty rough . . .

This is only after about 6 hours of work; I am guessing after about another 10 to 15 more it should be at a finished state.
