A few years ago, a little bar called “Manray” opened up on Pine Street; at the time it was very suave; wonderfully conceived – very Stanley Kubrick 2001 looking; they even had 2” x 2” television displays embeded in the wall over the urinals in the men’s room so you could catch whatever the hell it is you could possibly be watching while ridding yourself of excess water weight. It had a wonderful outside courtyard and a nice demeanor.
Then, of course, whiny people complained about the noise so the outside area had to be closed. Then, it unfortunately morphed into an S & M (Sneakers and Makeup) Bar. Stand, model, wear the latest crap, ignore. Repeat.
Then, the entire block was condemned! (Was it something they said?) – it was to become yet more especially distasteful and thoroughly unattractive paper-mache condominiums. . . but currently it now stands only as a parking lot with gravel. Actually, the space is nice . . .
Seattle artist Gary L. Skinner offers up his continually growing portfolio of artwork ranging from his current expanding selections of watercolor paintings to old sketches chosen from moments in his experience.
